had one lonely pour of Old Scout 8 year barrel proof bourbon sitting there, and had that tonight. I have three more bottles in reserve, from different barrels. This one was good, but could not begin to compare to Booker's (my favorite high proofer). We'll see how the next barrel/bottle goes.
That said, I have come to love their barrel proof 7 and 8 year rye offerings, just as Old Scout announced they were running out of it and it would be unavailable for some time. Ive pretty well cleared the Louisville shelves of it, primarily because only two companies offered MGP barrel proof aged ryes, and the other one thinks its acceptable to charge over $100 a bottle for the same stuff. When it becomes available again, Im betting the stores price it well over $70, and I will sit back with my (relatively) cheap case of it and enjoy it even more
