A note of caution BA, if you choose to replace the Barton be aware they have recently dropped the age statement but left a big 6 on the neck label. Make sure the ones you buy clearly state aged 6 years.

Last night I thoroughly enjoyed a 50/50 vatting of VW Lot B and Jefferson 18yo. Might be the best drink I've ever had. Better than either on their own, and both are VERY good on their own. I also enjoyed the company of an old friend, playing pool all night, and listening to some kick ass classic rock!

Starting off with some Dickel 12, then some Elijah small batch then probably some Old Overholt.

I have a higher opinion of Overholt and believe it's better than a lot of 1-2 year old way overpriced offerings from some NDPs.

I enjoy every sip, just a tad weak. I'm having a hard time finding rye for a decent price in my area, stores jack up the prices around here ( 28$ for wild turkey rye ). I'd love to try some Rittenhouse rye but I can't find it around here.

A sip of 20 YO Hirsch Selection 86 proof whiskey. I strongly suspect it is a blend. It has a high rye content and is actually a very good whiskey.

I'm enjoying the last little bit of Blanton's I've been keeping around for a month. I really need to get another bottle.

Spent some more time with Mellow Corn last night. Boy, that stuff is just delightful.

Anybody know if they are planning to increase distribution? For some reason, it's not available here in VA. I have to smuggle it in from NC.

It's pretty shocking that VA doesn't have it. We get many varieties of overpriced, unaged corn whiskey to keep up with this inexplicable fad of drinking legal "moonshine". But a nice bonded, aged, well-made corn whiskey for $9 just isn't available? That's dumb. It would sell well here.

Yea, I agree. I really like it but, I have a hard time spending the coin for it.

Tonight i started with Four Roses OESK Barrel strength, and now I'm closing the night with some Very Old Barton BIB. Thanks for the heads up Squire. The one i bought only has the 6 on the neck label. This did make me curious when I saw it with no verbiage referring to this number as years aged. Would like to try the other clearly labeled aged six years for comparison.
