I know, I was joking. That was the answer to the last contest I won. It would be rude to actually enter after I'd won one already.

Looking forward to an answer though. Thanks for another fun contest.

Ok you short haired bastage. You haven't won anything, but I'll send you something good all the same.

PM me your real name and address, and I'll send you something sweet.

Now, ye wouldn't be talkin' 'bout "Patrick's Pot", in which ye can 'drown the shamrock' on Paddy's Day, wouldya now?
Accordin' to legend, St. Patrick was shortchanged on a shot of whiskey an' tole the landlord of the hostelry that the devil was in his cellar gorgin' himself on the landlord's dishonesty. Terrified by the prospect, the landlord vowed to change his ways and when Patrick returned to the tavern some time later, he found that the landlord now filled everyone's glass to overflowin'!
Patrick announced that the landlord's newfound generosity was "starving the devil in his cellar," and proclaimed that thereafter everyone should have a drop of the 'hard stuff' on his feast day: Patrick's Pot. The tradition is also known as "drownin' the Shamrock" because of the custom of floatin' a shamrock in the whiskey ere swallowin' it.
A glass to St. Paddy...

And, Mark, I figured even if I'm not right, it was a fine whiskey story to be a-tellin'. :shamrock: :partyman:

Sorry Linn, I don't have cable so I have not a clue as to who you are talking about from the History Channel. If I was to guess I would say George Garvin Brown and his book "The Bible refutes Prohibition".

Did you see the show Linn on there that dealt mainly with whiskey or the newer one I saw a few weeks back that dealt with rum then a commerical came back and dealt with bourbon, then vodka etc etc?

Anyways, I honestly don't remember so here's a complete guess. The angels like the angels share removing water :?

No Mark that's not right. It was actually in a beer documentary. The answer is going to kill you with laughter, because the answer is of course a lie!

If nobody wins by Sunday evening. I'll shut the contest down on Monday and post the correct answer.

While watching a documentary on beer for some unknown reason Bill Samuels Jr. appears onscreen. He is talking about how his father replaced rye with wheat in the Makers Mark mashbill. He went on to say something very like "It has been said that my father took the devil out of whiskey." :rofl2:
