AND, you can have anything you can name........ name it and it is yours free of charge, as are refills. What will it be?

For me, right now, it would be Old Rip Van Winkle 15 YO, the bourbon that made me board this bourbon train. Almost impossible to find these days, but here at the 'You want it we got it' bar, it is readily available.

Step right up, your request is only a wish (and a dream) away!

After I poured the 2011 release of Pappy 15 on the flowers (as I did at the Gazebo last April) I would reach for a truly great bourbon. A Very Very Old Fitzgerald. What, you say I can have a second pour? You, sir, are a true southern gentleman.

I'll have a Weller 12 yo, seeing I have never had it before, but have heard great reviews about it.
If it's really good I'll have a second, if not make it a Jim Beam Black.

Good Choice!! And, readily available, and reasonable too! I had a sip of Weller 12 YO earlier in the evening, and then a sip of Van Winkle 13 YO rye (so very good), and then a sip of Handy Rye 129 proof cut to about 105 proof (just great whiskey), and then a sip of Rittenhouse BIB (also a great whiskey), and then a sip of 17 YO Jefferson's Reserve Presidential Select (Stizel Weller stuff that is excellent bourbon), and then a sip of 23 YO Vintage Rye (nice whiskey), and I finished (seven hours later) with a sip of Buffalo Trace Experimental Collection 17 YO bourbon (also quite good). As you can see, my palate does tend to favor 'older' whiskies......... always has.

I still have a bit of Pappy 15, but it is a much older release, Joe. It is an excellent whiskey. I am doubtful that I will ever buy another Van Winkle product at the prices they currently sell for. These days I often go for my vatting of Knob Creek Single Barrel (30%), Evan Williams Single Barrel (60%), and Wasmund's Single Malt (10%) or some other variation of malt whiskey that suits me own palate very well.

I would love to have Wild Turkey Tribute. That is one limited release that I could never get my hands on. I think the Tradition is a great pour but everything I have read suggests the Tribute was the one to bunker.

I would say a Pappy 23. I love my 15 but I doubt I will ever buy a bottle of 23 at $200+, but hey, if it's free!

If you really want to go exotic, I would take a pour from one of the Shackleton Mackinlay's Highland malt whisky's found at the South pole. Not the replica put out recently, but the real McCoy!

Cheers,

I'll take two that i've never had and never found.

I'd like to start with a glass of AA10 and follow that up with some WlW please.

Oh! And some A.H. Hirsch 16 year old - first release.
And all of the Parker's Heritage.
And Oh hell yes, a bottle each of Old Charter's 12 year old Classic 90 & 13 year old Proprietor's Reserve.
Old Forester Birthday Bourbon - the first release

That'll do for a start. More will come to mind as I drink.

I'll ask for three pours that are tough to find in AZ, though not particularly expensive ---

* Weller 12yr (love OWA)
* VOB BiB
* AAA

BTAC 07 WLW would be my pick. It seems that most folks find the 07 to be the least favorite of the WLW bottlings so far, but I absolutely love it. :P

Cheers!

I like the 2007 as well but not quite as much as the 2006 which some suspected to be barrel proof S-W.
