Well I guess I am going to stir the pot up a little but in my opinion the 10 year old is an excellent bourbon well worth the price. I actually think the 12 is a little overpriced. (but still very good) The 2011 15 year old i still think is an absolutely superb bourbon. I have had 2 seperate bottles and enjoyed both immensely. I think the profile of the whiskey has changed but I also feel some of the "foundation" set forth in the SW 15 year old is still very evident in the 2011 edition.
To my palate I clearly prefer the 2011 15 year old to the 20 and 23 year old (both of which still have SW juice in them).
I think SW was an amazing distillery but I also think we tend to magnify the mystique since it is silent. I would love to see the reaction if Buffalo Trace ever closed its doors and people couldnt get their hands on the BTAC. I think the statement that we wouldnt be willing to spend $120 on BT bourbon would go out the window pretty quickly with those bottles selling well above that price point.
I also agree that if you are having a hard time finding the lot b 12 year old see if you can lay your hands on the WL Weller 12 year old. Excellent bourbon at a great price
