Unread postby dragndakota » Sun Dec 25, 2011 5:06 pm

Im new to the website but i did look around and its seems informative. Me and my brother just started collecting bottles and today for christmas he got a bottle that i cant find any information on. Its still sealed and looks pretty old. Ive been all over the internet and cant find much. Any information anyone knows would be helpful. Like I said we are new at collecting so we dont know alot of places to find information or anything. thanks in advance.

Old Weller Antique 107 is still being produced, but the package is a little different. What you have, I have heard of as a "gold veined bottle". If you knew when the gold veins stopped being used, that could help determine the age, or look at the numbers on the bottom of the bottle. I think they used the gold veins from the 1950s to late '70s. Just my guess, I'm thinking your bottle maybe from the 1970's.

Ive looked it up and i can find old weller antique but from what i can find they dont produce the old weller original 107. The last gold vein bottle that i seen any info on said was produced in 1992, and it was a newer round style bottle. the only numbers on the bottom that i would see as dates are 18 and 79 so im guessing its from 79. Its still cool regardless but i just didnt know much about any of the company.

With the red tax stamp and it says "Louisville" on the label, it's a Stitzel-Weller product. Drink it, it should be excellent.

It has a tax stamp, so it is from before 1984. Is it a metric bottle? If so then it is after 1982. If it is a pint, then it is before 1979. If it has both then it is from 1979-1981. It is a Stitzel-Weller bottle of Old Weller 107 and it will be an excellent drink of bourbon.
