Try my homemade sauce. You can use any bourbon but right now my favorite is Eagle Rare so if you really want a good tasting BBQ sauce follow these directions and use Eagle Rare.

•1.5 Tablespoon butter
•1 Tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
•2 cups finely chopped onion
•2 cloves garlic, crushed
•.5 cup grad b maple syrup
•1 cup ketchup
•.25 cup red wine vinegar
•1 teaspoon dry mustard (can use less for personal flavor)
•.25 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
•2 Tablespoons lemon juice
•.50 teaspoon grated lemon zest
•1 Tablespoon soy sauce
•1 Tablespoon paprika
•.5 cup eagle rare bourbon whiskey
*crushed black pepper to taste

1.In a large skillet over medium heat, combine the onion, garlic, and Eagle Rare bourbon whiskey. Simmer for 10 minutes, or until onion is translucent. Mix in the rest of the ingredients slowly.
2.Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer for 20 minutes. Run sauce through a strainer if you prefer a smooth sauce.
