Surprisingly, (well maybe not so) I had the same thought. I spent a lot of money to get a bottle of Lawrenceburgh ER101. While I found it good, I really liked the 90's era BT version a bit better.

The juice from Seagram and BT are completely different and should not be expected to taste the same or similar.

I would imagine that the Seagram juice is a vatting of the different styles that the Old Prentice(Four Roses) made at the time. While, BT's juice is all from the low rye mashbill used by Ancient Age durring the time that they owned the distillery.
