Well tonight it was a generous pour of Yellowstone from the early 70's and a Romeo & Julietta Medillas de Oro. Simple pleasures don't get much better. Joe
This evening at the Bourbon's Bistro, Wayne, member of the Bourbon Society met me there for a drink and to pick up a bottle of Wild Turkey I had for him. He brought me a Padron Anniversary Series 1964 which was a nice medium bodied cigar with a little spiciness that went great with an Old Charter 8yo that I was drinking. The cigar's spiciness went well with the overall sweetness of this light bodied bourbon. This was a good combo to enjoy on the patio with a very mild (lower 80's) August evening.

Last night I paired a 1968 Dant Gethsamane 86 proof "fine" whiskey with a Punch cigar. The cigar, being what it was, may have overpowered the libation a bit. I'll get it right. Joe
While visiting with an old friend in Richmond, Virginia yesterday, I enjoyed a Carlos Torano Virtuoso double corona which was aged to perfection. This cigar is both full bodied, and full flavored without being too strong. It paired up very nicely with the bottle of Booker's he purchased especially for the occassion. I think it is impossible for any cigar to overpower Booker's, but the Torano held up very well and the combination complimented each other with gusto! A very enjoyable afternoon well spent.
It was a nice night to sit out on the bourbon deck. I paired a Graycliff Five Star Maduro with a nice pour of Blantons. Great cigar, great bourbon..........great evening. Joe
Tonight, a hot one in PA, I sat on the bourbon deck and paired a Savoy Maduro (Nicaraguan - buck a stick) with a Black Maple Hill 11 y/o. The cigar was just so so but the bourbon was very good. Joe
Angel 100 & 2006 Stagg (cut to ~ 110 proof). This was was a stronger cigar with plenty of flavor & matched up nicely with the Stagg. The Angel 100 was a "special edition" cigar from Oliva 2/3 years ago, & while I usually don't smoke stronger cigars these are enjoyable (IMO). Be sure to smoke it on a full stomach, unless you usually smoke the "nicotine bombs" . I'm not sure if they're still available, bought 50 on a super closeout to try, & when I went back for more they were out of stock.
A nice cool evening in Pennsy. On the bourbon deck, a nice pour of Party Source Four Roses Single Barrel and a box pressed Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 Maduro. Sublime combination. Joe
