Damn, I just got back from the liquor store North of Detroit and bought the same thing. $33.60. ouch. Michigan taxes are rude.
Mine was barreled on 1/16/97 bottled on 5/14/07 number 496.
My mouth is watering but I promised my wife I'd wait til after dinner.

This is without a doubt the silkiest/softest bourbon I have ever tasted. Some might even call it flat as there is no rye or spice bite. Yes, the EW citrus-mint taste and finish is absent from this bottle. I would have never guessed this was EW. After dinner sipping whiskey at its best.

I recently enjoyed Evan Williams Single Barrel and it is an outstanding bourbon...very smooth and rich tasting.

I had to re-read my review as I can never remember them. I just bought the newest 1998 vintage and all I can say right now is that I am not impressed. I will live with it a bit, and may write a review later.
