Decantur

I found a decantur of bourbon the other day called Lionstone. Anyone heard of it? It's 86 proof and it says Bardstown, KY on the label. It has a tax stamp 1969 on the bottom.

Actually I meant to say it has an unbroken tax stamp and it says 1969 on the bottom of the decantur.

Gayle,
Lionstone was a decanter company that decided to bottle its own decanters with whiskey bought from distilleries in Kentucky. Some of the whiskey is pretty good but most is just average quality.

Thanks Mike, with any luck at all it will be Stitzel-Weller whiskey. I also found an Old Bardstown from 1969 that is 10 years old, 90 proof. It has a LOT of sediment in the bottle but it is clear. I'll bring it to the next meeting.

I noticed some of that sediment in my bottle of 06 birthday bourbon. What is it?
