Old bottle of whiskey

Unread postby cam » Mon Jul 17, 2006 11:41 pm

I found this bottle hiding under some old flooring in a cabin, in New York. I was wondering if anybody had any information on the value of this bottle?

The label on the jug (no picture yet, but it is a jug style bottle) is:

"McCormick Kentucky Straight Corn Whiskey"
"Aged in the hills at Platte Valley"
"Aged 4 years, 1852"
"80.4 Proof"
"Distilled & Bottled by Mc Cormick Distilling Co."
"Weston Missouri"

This is a very common whiskey jug. Is it a 4/5 quart or a 750ml? If it is a 4/5 quart its is older than 1980 - meaning a 750 is newer then 1980. Either way it is a very common jug that you can find in the liquor stores today meaning that its value is no more than $5.00.
