I'm driving through Kentucky in the early part of January.

I plan on visiting Four Roses, KBD and Buffalo Trace for sure. Maker's Mark and others if time permits.

Just curious if anyone has any tips, suggestions, etc...

Does KBD (Willett) offer tours? Do I need to contact them ahead of time?

Is it reasonable to think I can tour 3 distilleries in one day?

What's a good affordable place to stay in Frankfort?

You might be able to get a tour of Willett, but I'd call Drew ahead of time to line it up.

I have done Four Roses, Wild Turkey and Buffalo Trace in a day so it is possible. Those three distilleries (and Woodford Reserve) are close together so I would target three of these four.

I thought Four Roses was boring and a lot different from the rest. Also, I'd definitely try to get to Woodford Reserve and go on down the road a couple of miles and see Old Taylor and Old Crow falling into the ground.

Tour BT, FR, MM for sure Barton is nice. Don't waste your time with WT unless you want something from the gift shop. HH isn't bad but no distillery is there.

If you've never been, you should not stay away from Heaven Hill just because they don't have a distillery tour. There is a lot of other stuff tu see and they have the best visitors center and one of the best tasting experiences. I would rather see Heaven Hill and one distillery than any two distilleries.

Well, due to the ridiculous weather, I was only able to make it to Buffalo Trace and Woodford.

Both great tours. Grabbed a few bottles of the white dog and the cream liquor and BT. The rick houses were awesome. Nice to see new, yet to be released product (E.H. Taylor) sitting there aging.

The pot stills at Woodford are a sight to behold.
