I spent some time down at the Getz Museum this morning helping them get ready for the auction. I know we have a few Maker's Mark collectors here so you will be interested in the bottles donated from the distillery - one for the Democratic Convention, one for the Republican Convention and one that represents both parties. They should attract some attention and hopefully some bids. There are many nice autographed bottles including one of the Weller 12yo that contains some whiskey distilled on the last day of distilling at Stitzel-Weller signed by both Ed Foote and Julian Van Winkle. There will be two prohibition era baskets - one of rye whiskey and one of bourbon. A 23yo Pappy is paired with a prohibition era Rip Van Winkle and 6 Van Winkle Glencairn glasses. The Bourbon Society has donated a bottle of the Kentucky Spirit we had bottled and 4 Glencairn glasses. On the whole, it looks like a very good auction this year.
