Mike kindly gave me a shot of this to sample over the weekend and I was wowed by it, thanks again, Mike. You described it very well. I think as a younger bourbon it might have tasted like the 1975 Seagram Benchmark Chuck and I tasted at the SB gazebo, which was rounded with molasses and chocolately notes. With another 16 years in old growth wood I could see that it might evolve into something similar to what this 22 year old bourbon was. To describe it in my own words, I'd say it tasted like an old pot still rum taken after a drink of A&W rootbeer.
