Not sure if this is the right forum but...
Any suggestions on a "watering hole" in Lexington where I can get a glass of good bourbon & smoke a cigar? I'm going to be in the Beaumont Circle area.
It's always nice to see the family for Thanksgiving, but sometimes it's nice not to see them for a couple of hours
.
Thanks.

Drive a little further to Louisville to Boubon's Bistro! Worth the trip if you haven't been there. Great food too and great people.

You can find them here. Pretty easy to find, parking is a bugger though. Give them a call for directions, but their pretty much right off of 64.
Have fun.

This is a warning!!!! DO NOT GO TO THE BISTRO!!!!!
Going there will only lead to an overwhelming desire to move to Louisville.

I highly second that! Just a trip to Louisville, Frankfort, Bardstown will do that to you!
Have fun.

If you are going to the Bistro, let me know. I am always up for a trip to the Bistro. They were chosen by Whisky Magazine as the best whiskey bar in North America and are in the finals for the best whisky bar in the world. They have my vote.

That's it....!!!!! If Mike (or even worse, more of the Society) is going to be there with you.........you might as well start packing boxes.

If you want even more encouragement, I could always post the minutes from our monthly Bourbon Society meetings. That might encourage a few people to move to Kentucky. We are getting out of the gate quickly next year with a January meeting at Blackacre with Julian as a speaker and February at Four Roses.

NeoTexan, didn't go to Louisville at Thanksgiving, just Lexington. I have to go over & pick them up the Friday before Xmas. Hopefully the trip down to Lexington will be better than a couple of years ago, my nephew & I got caught in the big Ohio snowstorm & Lexington had an ice storm when we finally got over the mountains. A 10 hour trip was 15/16 hours, good thing (I think
) I grew up driving in snow & ice.
