Had dinner with Greg Davis tonight and planned a fun outing for the Sampler. We're meeting up Thursday, April 27th at 10am for a nice tour of Barton's. Care to join me? PM me. He's gonna give us a real nice walk through.

'Nell,
I want to thank you so much for hooking up that tour. Greg Davis is an all-around excellent guy, and I felt honored that he did the tour himself.

I apologize for being so long with some photos. I didn't really take many notes, so I would love it if someone would post some of their's...
More coming...
Bj

Great photos! I will post my notes as soon as I can find my notebook! Darn it. It's in here somewhere.

Here we go into to Warehouse Z. This is where the 1792 sleeps. Greg had a barrel rolled out for us to taste. I'm thinking it was 8 year old, but someone help me out here...

Great! I can't really say much about the next few shots. I wasn't close enough to really hear Greg. I do remember hearing him mentioning the old still. Do you remember how old he said it was?

These shots are out of order. I should have posted them before I posted the previous distillery shots. They are from the top of Z, and too important to skip.
I remember they rotate that top rick..

Now we've passed the stills, and we're around the fermenters. It was the first time I ever actually tasted mash. Much sweeter than I expected...not bad at all...almost like a breakfast cereal.

Okie Dokie, I'll stop now. Sorry Mark & Chris, hope I haven't gone overboard here and burned up the bandwidth. I was just so tickled to be there, I was trying to take y'all there too...

And, that said I want to thank John & Mike for graciously stepping aside and allowing me to go on this tour. As it turned out, we were limited in group number. So they hung out at the Getz while I did the tour.
:urock:

Thanks for posting the pix Brenda! I'm sure many of us that weren't fortunate enough to participate in the tour were looking forward to seeing some photos, I know that I was. I'd actually like to see more, and hear more info from those of you that were there about the tour.

Your whole site is really well done. One of my favorites.

Thanks for the encouragement John. It was great to meet Linda and you at the Sampler a couple months back.
