Philadelphia Whiskey Fest

Unread postby Bourbon Joe » Fri Nov 11, 2005 1:24 pm

The Philly Whiskey Fest is history. Me, Fricky and Mobourbon had a great time. We got to taste the entire Antique Collection from Buffalo Trace, including the William Larue Weller, ER-17, New Stagg and Sazerac as poured by Chris Comstock. Y'all are really gonna like this collection. We also got to talk shop with Fred Noe and Jimmy Russell - both super guys. I'll try to include a picture:

A fine looking bunch of bourbon enthusiat! It looks like you had fun and Fred Noe and Jimmy Russell are two of the most fun loving distilling people on Earth. Thank for the picture.

The William Larue Weller had a very sweet front end. Sort of a super wheater. Sweet on the middle palate as well. Could not do a perfect evaluation because the pour was only about half an ounce. I do recall that I liked it though. (I did not like the Bernheim Wheat Whiskey). I remember Chris Comstock telling us that the total Pennsylvania release will be about 120 bottles. Good luck finding some.

Linn,
Fred (MoBourbon) is from the SB.com site. He's a great guy and manages one of Pennsylvania's liquor stores.
