Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Four Grain Bourbon

I am taking a sip of this whiskey and just plain loving it. I am told that the aroma is in part derived from the copper kettles used in its distillation. Without knowing it for a certainty, I also suspect that the yeast plays a non-trivial role in the taste of this wonderful whiskey.

It is a very dry whiskey, leaving the mouth with an almost sawdusty aftertaste.........still I sip on and smile.

It has a tang that is just this side of sour and metallic.........still I sip on and smile.

It has a rye bite that never quite takes hold.........still I sip on and smile.

Its sweetness is barely able to gain entry...........still I sip on and smile.

It lingers in its bizarre way............still I opt for another sip and smile.

It is not your every day bourbon............still I sip on and smile.

I know Chris Morris at Woodford Reserve is not your ordinary Master Distiller............so I sip on and smile!

INHO, you certainly have it right with your " It has a tang that is just this side of sour and metallic" comment.

I found this bourbon to be absolutely undrinkable ( a first, and perhaps, last for me). It has the awful taste of rotting, sour grass and, as some more eloquent tasters have noted, the mouth feel of sucking on a handful of pennies. Truly dreadful stuff!
