What to get and when.. release?

I live in Louisville. Every time I try a great bourbon at a bar, when I go to the liquor store I get chuckles from the sales guy saying they've long been sold out. Pappy's, Weller 12 and Four Roses 2014.
How do folks know where this stuff is being sold and when? Anyone know of something really good that's about to be released? Any ideas?

You just have to hit the store more often, especially in the Spring and Fall. Tell the guy to call you when something special shows up.

bourbonr.com has a blog that gives a general time frame of what is coming out when, but it is mostly up to you to contact your local stores as to exactly when their shipments come in. i personally have made friends with about 5 store owners who will let me know when something is coming in, and usually put a bottle aside for me (except for the van winkles).
