Anyone have any comments on the differences between years on these? I have 86, 87, 88, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, & 96. I have only cracked the 86 (which I did when it first came out, and now regret, as I can't find anymore), but was planning on doing a vertical at some point. Has anyone else done a vertical on these?
As a postscript, if anyone knows where to find some 86, 89 or 90, you could make me a happy camper
Mick,
I was fortunate enough to do a liniar tasting of every vintage with the Heaven Hill folk about a month ago. They are all different. I have the notes at home and after I get some problems with internet straightened out, I will post them.

I did a vertical of all the vintages then in existence in 2001. It was organized by Heaven Hill. The notes are on page 218 of my book. The only '86 they could find had to be liberated from the office of a HH executive. I felt then and still feel that the later (i.e., most recent) vintages are better than the earlier ones. The 1994 might be the best of the lot.
So far I've only been able to find/try the 1996/2006 Vintage. I enjoyed it quite a bit and look forward to getting my hands on some bottles of the other vintages! The '96 instantly gained a place on my drink very often shelf alongside my bottles of Stagg and Russell's Reserve.
I have two each 1996 and 1997 and a 1990 and 1992. I've had both the 1996 and 1997 and think they are both great bourbons. Unfotunately, I have yet to try any other years....maybe someday.
