William LaRue Weller.........again!

Unread postby Mike » Thu Aug 24, 2006 3:18 pm

I owe the BE brotherhood and sisterhood (and bunghole in particular) two apologies. One, in doing some Weller side by sides (12 YO, Centennial 10 YO, and WLW) I diluted the WLW so that it was about 95 proof. It was a much better whiskey than it is at 121.9 proof. I had more flavor and a nice finish.........my reservations about it were unfounded.

The second apology is about me saying no whiskey benefits from the addition of some water. Obiviously many of you knew that to be untrue. And, now I do too!!

That's OK Mike, and no apology is needed nor wanted. Now you can see just what we've been talking about. A little light chill filtering can also be a good thing with Pappy 20 year old as a prime example.
