Turtle Bay Distilling

Unread postby Bourbon Joe » Mon Mar 27, 2006 8:55 pm

I have a bottle of bourbon from 1971. It is an 8 y/o, 86 proof whiskey which the bottle states "Bottled by Turtle Bay Distilling - Lawrenceburg".
Can anyone tell me who made this whiskey? Also, can anyone explain Turtle Bay Distilling?
Thanks,
Joe

Hi Joe,
Sounds like a contract job for Commonwealth (Julian van Winkle). Of course 16 year old Twisted Spoke (another JvanW bottling) was a contract job, too... and maybe the best American whiskey ever made!
