Wild Turkey Forgiven

Unread postby gundog » Wed Oct 30, 2013 3:33 pm

Just stopped by my local liquor store and the manager showed me a new bottle he had jut gotten in: Wild Turkey Forgiven. It is a blend of rye and bourbon. Has anyone seen these and cracked the bottle. Anyone know how many will be released?

It got desultory reviews on the other board. Enough said for me, but your mileage may vary.

Personally, I love it! I'm predisposed to high rye bourbons and this hits the mark for me.

It's about 78% 6 year old Bourbon mixed with 22% 4 year old rye with the resulting blend selling for as much as both bottles of the ingredients combined.

I like WT Rye and have been a fan for a long time, but I can mix it with Bourbon on my own. This expression was just an excuse to double the price while pretending the bottle contained something special.

I tasted this yesterday and found it to be quite acceptable.
