Blanton's with a splash of mint water--a highball mint julep. And...spring water ice, add a sunset over the Chesapeake Bay, my lovely lady...this is livin' in tall cotton

A blend of bourbons (about 20), with red vermouth and some 1970's Angostura. Swirled well on the rocks. A very rounded, smoky-oaky/winy/spicy/mildly sweet taste.

I doubt a Manhattan can be better, but am open to suggestion. :)

A smoky martini...bombay gin with a splash of rye and twist of lemon. Not in a martini glass, of course, not classy enuf for that.

Saw for the first time RevelStoke, a spiced whisky from Phillips, so I bought a tiny bottle and am drinking it. It's pretty much ok.

Also bought a bottle of Wild Turkey 101, will sample it soon.

Was a beautiful day in SE MN, rode the motorcycle 200 miles, saw the sun rise, and the sun set thru the windshield of it.

Last night, we went out, and I saw a bottle of Knob Creek at the bar, so I asked for some, with the ice on the side. I thought it was good, but not good enough to justify the extra price.

Parker's Heritage 10 YO Wheat - a boubon drinker's bourbon, rich beyond comparison, color its sweetness dark, describe its taste as profound, grade its complexity as outrageous..........

A friend sent some samples, so getting to try the Black Maple Hill 16 YO Straight Bourbon. I've only had the regular NAS stuff they sell now, so I can see what all the fuss was about. Definitely very complex and an interesting bitterness in the background flavor (not saying that's bad). Tonight I'll work at tasting it, but tomorrow I'll explore it again.

Tonight, it's 1792. Very smooth, but not very complex in its flavors. Not bad at all, though, for being under $20/750ml.

Old fitz bib, believe this was distilled at bernheim. quite like this stuff, and my fondness has grown.

I remember drinking that stuff back in the 80's. Godawful stuff back then but it was cheap and I was poor.

Buffalo Trace with some ice. This is my first bourbon and I am really enjoying so far.
