Had some Hirsch 28yo last night. To me, the best bourbon out there, love the stuff...

Poured the final 1.5-2 oz of my Four Roses Single Barrel into an Old Fashioned. It had started to degrade after sitting so long in an empty bottle :(

Luckily, I have a brand spanking new bottle of Elmer T. Lee to follow it with!

This evening I am sipping some 17 year 9 month old Buffalo Trace boubon. At some point in 2010 BT found 8 barrels of this 'lost' bourbon and bottled it in 375ml bottles at a high price (I do not remember what it was). I find it to be excellent bourbon, tannice to be sure, but not overly so. Other than the fact that it is 90 proof and that 43.7% of the original barrel contents went to the angels, nothing else is revealed about this bourbon.

Is that the (so-called) Old Charter samples?
If so, read the label carefully and tell us where the barrel came from.

There is no recipe information on the bottle, John. Just says it is a bourbon recipe, no entry proof, not final proof, aged in warehouse L, floor 2, rack 6 row1, slot 1. Distilled on 5/1993, bottled on 12/20/10, and chill filtered. That is it.
