I never thought of trying that. It sounds good.

Update for tonight:

George Stagg Jr. Batch #5 & the last of Booker's "Center Cut". As a side note, has anyone else really liked the "center cut" release? I've tried it side-by-side with "Noe Secret" and for some reason the CC is much better to me. I'm not trained enough to explain the difference but it seems smoother/cohesive?

Comparing some Old Bardstown and Pure Kentucky XO.

Add some tastings of: Henry McKenna BIB, OGD114, Four Roses Small Batch, and 1792 Port Finish.

I finally finished the rest of the big bottle of Wild Turkey 101. It was a fabulous bottle that served me well for over a month. I should spread the last over two night instead of just one :drunken: Paid for it in the morning.

Now its time to have some Four Roses Yellow label. I like this one in the spring on the patio, nice on ice, easy to drink with a bit of rye and fruit.

As much as I love Four Roses.......... I hate the Yellow Label. I find it damn near undrinkable. It is so bland and so........meh, to me. I have never understood the popularity of this stuff. I guess that's why we all have different tastes 8-) .

Yellow label is sort of a change-up bourbon for me. It's mindless summer bourbon that is great on the patio.

I think a summer bourbon is much like a summer pop song. Fun and mindless.

A little Van Winkle 10yo (107) and some 12yo. Mixed it up a little to. 80/20 10 yo/12yo was great! Both very good bourbons at retail.

Not bourbons but: Redbreast 12 and Glenmorangie La Santa

Trying to kill the Redbreast 12 so I have an excuse to buy the cask strength version. That said, both are amazing IMO.

Standard Redbreast is good stuff but the cask strength is exceptional. Definately worth the extra coin!

Enjoy,

Heaven Hill Green label. The stuff they sell here in Kentucky has a 6 year age statement and is bottled at 90 proof. I got the 1.75 jug for $17.99 at Sams. Its smooth and easy drinking at the expense of flavor like the BIB white label. That's Okay as it's mostly for mixing with coke for my guests that do that, and I'm not opposed to mixing it for myself from time to time.

This is one of the better low-end pours.

used to like it but cant get into it much anymore.....the price is right, and it IS good, but for a few bucks more i can get HH6BIB, so thats where I end up instead. Handed a glass of it though, I surely would not turn a nose up at it!
