I also polished off a 1970 Ezra Brooks 152 month old. Very very nice stuff.

opened the High West Double Rye tonight. nice, but could use more proof. But, I say that about most things under 100 proof

Bookers 2014-06. nearing the end of this fantastic bottle. I hope the next one in reserve, the Big Man Small Batch label, is comparable.

Im always grateful Beam keeps putting out this barrel proof gem, keeps it on shelves consistently, AND doesnt try to rape your wallet to take it home.

My last bottle of Pappy 15 is just under half empty now. I take joy in its being half full. Say anything and everything about it that it suits you to say. It may have its equals (some of which I have myself perhaps vatted), but it does not, in my judgement, have any superiors. Until the opportunity arises, and I do not expect it to ever arise, I do not know how much I would be willing to pay for it, but I think maybe it would top out under $150.

Strange, I know, but t'other night I dreamed (it was my dream!) that an attractive woman gave me a bottle of Pappy 15. True story, and very much a dream in several ways.

Rage, rage against the dying of the light. - Dylan Thomas

out with mrs fox last night, I ordered a flight of new things to try.

Russels Reserve 6 year rye, Ridgemont 1792, and JDSB. It was a near tie between the RR rye and the 1792 on favorites

probably not. with the bunker the size it is, very few new purchases get made anymore, and i tend to like the higher rye percentage and higher proof of the SAOS berrel proof ryes, even at the $57 I paid for the last few, and with 6 of them on hand, Im set for a while.

They were by no means bad pours, I just like more proof. But, you dont know if you dont try!

Last night saw some Blanton's Single Barrel. Excellent stuff. Wish I could try this at cask strength. I've seen it on the net, just never in person.

Mike, I am envious that you have an open 15 of Pappy. Still the best whiskey I have ever tasted. The 108 Rare Breed came close. The 2012 BTAC Stagg may have been it's equal, I don't know. Would love to do a throw down of the two

I'm hoping to add a Booker's to the shelves. I definitely prefer the higher proof whiskeys and I hope this one works out for me.

When McKenna is on it's really on, when less so still good but less so. This is a brand that I think could be improved by batching rather than bottled as single barrel.
