Just had a couple of ounces of Russel's Reserve single barre neat with about an teaspoon of water added and now finishing off with a couple of ounces or Rittenhouse Rye neat with a few drops of water. A nice way to relax after a hard days work.

Revisited a bottle of Makers Mark that I was not fond of. Sipped it reaaaaalll slow and got a new appreciation for it. Daily pour is Beam Black but I was in the mood for something different. I have been on a tear 'collecting bottles' as I tell the sainted bride. Eagle Rare, Jefferson's, Four Roses Single Barrel, Woodford Reserve, Col. E.H Taylor Barrel Proof...yeah, it's going to be a loooooong winter but nice to be among such fine company!

There is an upcoming release of some Pappy, in the wind, so says my local retail store....anyone get luck?

Mixed Old Heaven Hill BIB 2:1 with fireball. It was pretty good, the bourbon came thru nice, with just the right amount of cinnamon. Sort of like a cinnamon flavored old fashioned.

The past month or so has seen:

The new Rare Breed 112, both straight up and vatted with other bourbons
The old Rare Breed 108
Knob Creek Single Barrel 120
Blantons
Jack Daniels Single Barrel 2012 Christmas
Van Winkle Lot B & 107, both straight and in numerous different vattings

Everything one was a pleasure, even the Jack

Cheers,

The last week I have been drinking either Antique Weller 107 and some Balcones Rumble. Today I picked up a Bottle of EH Taylor Barrel Proof. Pretty hot but a great Bourbon.

Just finished off my bottle of Benchmak Old No. 8. My girlfriend bought this bottle for me as a present for getting a new job.

I can drink Single Barrel's on the rocks, but with Bourbon Blends, I need to be able to mix it with a Cola. I'm hoping as time goes on I can enjoy all Bourbons on the rocks, but the burn is a bit much for me at this point.

I get a lot of vanilla, a lot of wood from this one. Its not a terrible bourbon, I rate it above EW. For the price, I don't think its too bad.
