Sipping a little Weller Antique this evening. I will finish the bottle up over the next few weeks and switch it up a bit.

One of my "must have in the bunker at all times" whiskies. Great value. So is Virgin 7 - 101.

I have never seen a bottle of HH 6 BIB anywhere that I have bought whiskey. No doubt, my loss.

I've only seen Heaven Hill 6 year BIB in Kentucky and Tennessee and believe me I've looked when traveling elsewhere.

After a hard day's effort at helping our granddaughter move, I am sipping one of my favorites, Jack Daniel's Single Barrel. I earned this sip and will have another because I earned that one two, but probably not three (howsomever, I make no promises). In my opinion, a well-stocked whiskey cabinet should contain some JDSB.

'Tain't cheap, I know, but it is very good whiskey........... a skosh of softness, a mite of maple, and a rip of rye. It slides down with a refreshing tingle.

Here, have a sip for yo own self.

Had my first scotch. Speyburn 10 single malt. It's good but overpriced and thin compared to my favorite bourbons. I'll stay with bourbon.

Me too Birdo, I've had enough Scotch to have scratched that itch.

I too am a bourbon kinda guy, first and foremost. Nothing compares to a good, rich, oaky bourbon.

That being said, I would suggest everyone try, at least once, Lagavulin 16YO & Ardbeg Corryvrecken scotches.

some Old Scout Single Barrel barrel proof bourbon. A really nice bourbon, its only shortcoming is the finish.....it fades too quickly. Bookers is about the same age and proof, yet the aftertaste that lingers for 20-30 minutes is probably better than the entry itself. Booker's just feels 'thick' unlike any bourbon Ive tried. Still, I bought several different barrel selections of this SAOS because, well, I am a barrel proof whore.

I am having a sip of 21 YO Rittenhouse Straight Rye Whiskey (100 proof). The spicy rye and the years in the barrel combine for a hot subtlety. Hurrah!!

Now, what if I took some Evan Williams Single Barrel (86 proof) and matched it, pound for pound, with some Makers Mark Barrel Proof (111 proof). Would it be drinkable?

Yep! First Rate!

You have a fairly decent 4 grain there.
