Friday night saw Rare Breed and Saturday was Blantons. All in all, a good weekend.

Having some Bulleit today. It's been months since the last time I've drank some. For the price, it's one of the best out there, you definitely cannot go wrong with this one.

This past weekend saw some Lagavulin 16yo on Friday night. Easily my favorite lower proof Scotch. Saturday night was a homage to Mike, and started off with a solid pour of Woodford Double Oak. This was my third or fourth visit to this particular bourbon and it finally took. What a great whiskey this has turned out to be. Feeling a little adventuress towards the end of the glass, I decided to add a splash of Old Rip Van Winkle 107. The combination was excellent and a fine ending to a most wonderful evening.

Cheers,

Today I opened my first bottle of Dickel Rye. Interesting flavors in this one, dickel never seems to disappoint. This being my third rye I'm still developing my taste for it, I really enjoy high rye bourbon and I find straight rye interesting but not as tasty as bourbon. Dickel 12 grew on me big time after a few tastings but this rye is pretty tasty already. Music being another big hobby of mine I find myself listening to southern blues whilst sipping on dickel, they go together quite well.

I finally got around to opening up my Highland Park Scotch. Not Bourbon, but still good.

I'm working at sea, so I can't drink for another three weeks.

But I'm enjoying all of your pours vicariously, and using this time to read the forums and plan a tasty break.

Been working my way through a bottle of Henry McKenna BiB SB. It's good, but it's not $10-15 better than EWSB.
