last night I had a swig of mellow corn and a swig of old bartons 86 to wash some pills down with. I felt like charles bukowski.

This was put in the cask on 4/1/02 and says specially selected for Total Wine & More by Craig Beam. 86.6 proof.

Color - Light color. About like tea.

Nose - Vanilla. Honey. Banana. Sweet.

Taste - Oak up front. Spice. Cinnamon. Slightly oily.

Finnish - More oak and vanilla.

Like it better tonight than I did last night when I opened the botttle (Of course with the way Arizona was losing to the Ducks, I'm not sure I would've enjoyed my PVW 20 ) Last night I would've taken some EC 12 over this in a heartbeat. Now I'm not so sure. Subtle seems to be the best way to describe it. Although the spice stays on the lips for a long finish.

Probably would've helped if I'd added that

Okay thanks. Good notes including that oiliness, most HH brands show that to a certain degree IMO, except anything 12 years and over maybe (but even then...). A house characteristic I'd say.
