I opened another bottle of Old Forester Signature. Last summer I bought 3 bottles and drank one right after I brought it home. I have to say that overall it isn't my favorite but was willing to give it another chance. The current bottle is more enjoyable than the last but still not my favorite by a long shot.

Old Forrester Most definitely one of my favorites. Last night I finished of some Elijah Craig 12 and has some Wheller Special reserve. The Elijah was another great one but I'll be looking for a replacement today.

On the back shelf I happened to see that a good while back I mixed (50/50) some Kentucky Spirit 101 proof and some 10 YO Eagle Rare 101 proof. Exceptionally rich and balanced bourbon. Too bad ER 101 is no longer available, it was really really good bourbon. At $20 it was a knock down bargain a few years back.

Last night I finished off a bottle of Black Bottle blended Scotch. I really enjoyed that offering. I visited the store in Pburg NJ where I bought it hoping to get another but none were available. I didn't want to walk out empty handed so I purchased a handle of Evan Williams Black Label on sale of course.

OK, tonight. As mentioned before, I'm really struggling with Old Forester Signature. So, I'm going to open up something new (to me) from out of my stocks. Drum Roll.....OGD 114.

There, I said it.

youre not the only non- fan of Forester Signature. its better than the 86 proof, but that aint saying much. It's one of my good friends' favorites, but then again, I think he is kinda biased to say that, as he is an employee. At a blind tasting last year, he picked HH 90 proof green label over his favorite OFS, calling the OFS "rather young"

BF and 4R dont get any of my business, as I just havent found anything that I like from either

Had some Knob creek and now some Rittenhouse. I got the knob creek because it was on sale and I'm really enjoying it. I've had it before but this bottle is tasting perfect.

KC, WT101 and Fitz BIB are things I dont keep at home, as they are things I go to when out and dont see anything new I want to try, as I can usually count on these being good pours and available at any decent bar/restaurant.

Cracked open a bottle of 8 year old WT 101 from 2003 last night. The local Asian liquor store I occasionally visit says he still has quite a stash. Thus I only picked up 3 liters (at 2003 prices to boot). Also in the order was a 750 of MM and Early Times Brown (the cheapest thing I can get here at the moment, and not too bad).

Then the owner threw in a 350 of WT Old #8/86 bottled in 1997. Not too bad either, esp since it was free!

tossing some Larceny down my neck. With it $20 a 1.75 after the rebate, youd have to be a fool or just plain not like it to pass it by.

Treated myself and grabbed a bottle of Bakers...I love this stuff. Wish it were about $10-15 less and I'd always have it around.
