For those interested in a whiskey thief, Heaven Hill's Visitor center has new copper whiskey thiefs for about $175. At that price, it should be filled with old whiskey; however, I realize that copper is expensive.

I'd think it definitely needs to be a "try before you buy" kind if thing. :D

I think you might be on to something. Maybe buy it before the tour, sneak off in the warehouse, climb up to a "honey spot" and have at it.

Come to think of it, they should sell bung hammers too. :D

I guess it would be pretty nice to display by your bar. Although for $175 I'd probably just by a couple barrel heads instead.

It's funny, I actually thought of trying to find a bung hammer. I found one antique tool seller in NY that had had some. Grainger actually sells one (imported from England, made of beechwood). Um, wait, Woodworker's Supply has more...

Well Doug, I am not made of copper, but I am the cheapest whiskey thief you can get!

Wild Turkey also has bung hammers...thought about buying one when I was there a while back and getting Jimmy Russell to sign it for me.
Personally, I'd love to track down a used copper whiskey thief...would love to have it for my office...

I use a graduated pipette - not only does it prove my technical education (hey, it's graduated), but it keeps my pours honest.
