Online Bourbon Stores

Unread postby BourbonDrinker » Mon Jul 23, 2007 5:43 pm

Over at BourbonDrinker.com we've recently had some discussion about online retailers that sell Bourbon. One user shared a store called WineChateau.com that had a bottle of Basil Hayden listed for $157 (On sale from $216)! Amazing bargain... err, I mean rip-off! It was suggested that I start a forum on BourbonDrinker.com for reviews of on-line bourbon retailers!

I've personally only ever ordered bourbon from 2 online retailers. One is Binnys.com---and they were great. The other I can't remember.

Does anyone here have expereince with some of the good or bad online retailers that they care to share?

I don't think Hi Time ships outside California anymore.

I have had great luck with shoppersvinyard the prices on some bottles are better than others but the only site I have found with the heard sampler.

http://www.shoppersvineyard.com/buffalotrace/buffalo-trace-herd-sampler-12869.html

This thing comes with all of this for 199.99

7 bourbons from Buffalo Trace. They are:

Blantons Bourbon
Hancocks Reserve Bourbon
Rock Hill Farms Bourbon
Eagle Rare 10yr Bourbon
Elmer T. Lee Bourbon
Old Weller Bourbon
W.L. Weller Centennial 10yr Bourbon

If you were to come into the store and purchase these bottles individually, it would cost you $230, but if you purchase the Buffalo Trace Herd Sampler you can get it for the LOW, LOW cost of $199.99. Thats a $30 savings.

I just received an order from them not to long ago, service was good and they ship to my state. Binny's will not ship here but they will ship to a friend in Ohio. Binny's service was outstanding.

Online Retailers

Unread postby ggilbertva » Mon Aug 13, 2007 3:14 pm

I've used most listed in previous posts. I only use online retailers when necessary due to shipping costs. Binny's prices are good and Shoppersvineyard is also good. InternetWines is pretty expensive therefore I don't use them. There are also a couple of ebay stores that sell bourbon and those are silly expensive.

popswine.com has good prices on some spirits and not on others (they specialize in wine, duh), but they will ship up to 12 bottles for $9 and their service is impeccable.
