Very Old Barton 100

Unread postby JH » Thu Jul 12, 2007 6:30 pm

I remember reading not too long ago that this bourbon, the 100 proof, is not going to be made anymore. Any idea when it will be unavailable at Liquor Barns in Lexington?
How does the VOB 90 compare?
From recommendations here for good Old Fashioned bourbon I bought this for a friend last winter while traveling through Lexington. He loves it, so I better get him another 1.75 lt. while it's available. Just wondering on whether to wait until I'm back down in Oct. or have my brother buy me a bottle now?
Thanks.

Greg Davis (master distiller at Barton) told me it was going away. That was in the spring of 2006. Last time I was in Kentucky there was plenty. I stocked up nevertheless. You can't be too careful.

Joe,

I think you are referring to Greg saying that the 100 proof is going to disappear everywhere but in KY. I may be wrong but that is what I remember him saying.

You're right Chuck, old age is a terrible thing. Funny, I never knew that Barton was available anywhere EXCEPT Kentucky.

We've purchased 100 proof in Gatlinburg, TN in years past. I'm also pretty sure we've seen 86 proof in other states, but I'm not sure about the BIB.
