Always do a trial run.................to my house in Conyers, GA

P.S. I have always used the Pony Express, er, I mean, the U S Postal Service and label it juice (it is slightly on the illegal side for individuals to ship spirits, so I always put bunghole's return address so he will get the blame if any is given out).

I pack it in bubble wrap, newspaper, and put it in a cardboard box. There have been a couple that leaked, but so have packages that I received via UPS.

Shipping

I typically use UPS or FedEx because there's no questions asked. I've had many bottles shipped to me and I've shipped bottles to others. What I've come across recently is some leakage during shipment and I believe this is due to heat causing expansion in the bottle. Prior to the summer heat setting in, I didn't have any problems with leakage. I would suggest that when you ship a bottle, you place the bottle in a large freezer bag and seal it. That way, if it does leak, it's contained in the plastic bag and not leaking through the box which could trigger a return of the package to you. I typically use a slightly oversized box, wrap the bottle in bubble wrap and place styro peanuts around the bottle. That typically is all you need to have it arrive safely. Also, have the shipper put a "Fragile" sticker on the box.
