I've seen it in a Virginia ABC store along with Old 1889, they were on the bottom shelf and pretty cheap. Should have gotten a bottle or two but passed. I think they were originally made by the Old Boone distillery until it shut down in the 1970's.

Virgin Bourbon is made by Heaven Hill. A 7 y/o 101 proof for a little over 10 bucks is a no brainer IMO.

I think you are correct WC, about Virgin being originally a Boone distillery brand. 1889 was started by the notorious Kansas City businessman and political boss Tom Pendergast. Both brands are now owned by Heaven Hill.

Found this bottle of Old Glory BIB whiskey today at an antique show. Sadly the tax stamp which would've had the date the whiskey was made and when it was bottled has fallen off. I would guess it's from 1910-1918 and it seems to have the original cork and contents. It was made by The Union Distilling Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio which went out of business in 1918 thanks to prohibition.

Love these old labels. This one is remarkable for what it doesn't say, no disclosive details on the front label. Is there another label on back?

Looks drinkable from the back view, not that you or I would drink it. I wonder if it would be safe to drink anyway? It looks blackish in the front view.

I've done a lot of research on pre-prohibition bottles of whiskey and they can still be good to drink as long as the liquid is still clear, the fill level is still high, and the bottles were stored properly(upright in a cool dark area away from sunlight).
Since cork seals are not perfect, you will find that most old bottles will have some degree of evaporation. Whiskey will go bad and turn cloudy once most of the alcohol evaporates from the bottle but this can take many decades or even centuries depending on how good the seal is. You can have two sealed and unopened bottles of whiskey that look exactly the same except one is full and one is half full. The full one will be worth much more to a collector/drinker than the one that's half full because it has a much better chance of being drinkable. Sometimes the seals or corks can ruin old whiskey too especially if they are stored on their sides. The oldest whiskey I've ever had was a rye whiskey from the 1890's and it was extremely good, like nothing we can get today.
Here's a very interesting article from 2013 about a bar in Maine that sells shots of pre-prohibition whiskey for $150 each....

Found this bottle of pre-prohibition BIB Braddock Maryland Rye Whiskey at an antique show.
I have been looking for a full bottle of Maryland Rye for a long time so I said to the dealer:
"What a great bottle I wish it was still full."
He responded:
"It was full but I dumped it out last night because it was probably too old."
NOOOO!!!!!!!
After I gave him $25 for the empty bottle I told him I would have given him hundreds of dollars for it if it was still full.
He was not happy with himself after that. There's probably like 5 of these bottles in the whole world that's still full and unopened.
Now please excuse me while I lock myself in the closet and cry for a few more hours. :(

Thanks to a member here I was able to get my first big unopened bottle of Maryland Rye whiskey bottled in 1953.
Being bottled in bond makes it extra special to me and sadly the Baltimore Pure Rye Distilling Company closed down in 1957...
