Weekly tasting with the cats

Unread postby MikeK » Sun Apr 01, 2007 11:23 am

ArtL came by last night for one of our regular tastings. The cats, Beauregard and Jack Daniel, often hang out with us hoping for a rubbing or to snag a warm chair when you turn your back. Last night they were unusually interested in the fare. I thought some of you might find this amusing :D

Lets see, what did we sample last night... Here's what I can remember.
Virginia Gentleman "Fox", ORVW 10-107, Old Charter 13yo UD, late 60's Old Crow, Kentucky Spirit, WLW 05 vs. 06, early 80's OGD 114, Bernheim wheat, Weller Centennial.

Tasting notes: They were all good!

My wife and daughter were curled up on the couch together watching a movie. I think they were both out cold at this point.

Mike,
Great photos. Even better bourbons - I love that Old Rip 10yo 107!

Indeed! We've 'rediscovered' it recently. The Pappy 15 is getting a little old for me starting last year and upon dropping back to the 10yo I find it quite marvelous.

The bottle on the table has a 'batch' number starting with 'A'. Does this number increment on some regular basis like the VWFRR?

Thanks,
Mike

Barleycorn says he would never trust a cat to be that close to his whiskey!.

When I asked him why I should trust him to be close to MY whiskey, he merely replied that a man is a dog's best friend.

Thankfully the cats, while curious, have not been interested in actually sampling. Unfortunately there is a long list of things they do like to sample that I need to keep locked up. Hopefully this will not expand into my whiskey. I am keeping a close eye on the orange cat, who has extra thumbs on his front paws...
