i get the impression theyve already come and gone. Ive not seen any, and I live in bourbon central. plus, i hear quite a bit of price gouging is going on with it too.

I was recently in Kentucky. They are long gone there.

The bottles seem to be showing up at different times in different states, so there's still hope! Retail is supposedly $34.99 and I've heard of pricing anywhere from $28 to stupid, so you may not have to grab those ankles :D

I can see the collector appeal but isn't this stuff just regular ETL at a slightly higher proof?

You are basically correct. Some of us just want to remember him always.

What Joe said. Elmer T. Lee was an icon in the bourbon industry, not to mention a truly great gentleman, and just plain old, all around nice guy. I was fortunate enough to meet him a couple of times. BT basically came up with ETL to honor him because of his legacy. The 90th Birthday bottling, and now the ETL Commemorative are just extensions of that. FWIW, the ETL Commemorative is more than worthy to bear his name. I'm having a pour as I type this. :tongue5: Cheers Elmer! You may be gone, but you won't be forgotten. At least by a few of us that really, truly care.
