I stopped at a place today to just see what they had and spotted some old 1 Liter 86 proof Yellowstone bottles shoved away on a bottom shelf from the other bourbons. They all had old tax stamps on the bottles. Think I will go back and get at least one for old times sake. This was a popular drink along with Kentucky Tavern when I was growing up outside of Owensboro Ky.
Also did a little researching and saw some things to look at to help determining the age of the bottle. It was pretty inexpesive, $12.99 and it will certainly not go to waste.
Any thoughts on this bourbon? Bourbon shopping in my area is pretty dismal. Only places with any selection of consequence are BEVMO's and the Nugget Markets. Some places have a few other things but certainly not much. Definitely not many finds to be had.
Thanks to all the helpful posts I am certainly learning a lot. Have been lurking a couple of months and slowly building up a stock of different things. Also will be heading back to Ky this summer most likely so I plan to pick up some things that I can't get in Ca.
Bourbon is certainly a great way to connect with home.
