Vatting Bourbons

Unread postby Bourbon Joe » Thu Jan 26, 2006 2:42 am

I was not a true believer of vatting whiskeys until today. At our weekly (blind) Bourbon Tasting, the host presented a vatted bourbon as one of the three to be evaluated. It was equal parts of George T. Stagg (latest release), Makers Mark and Evan Williams 1783. NEVER, in the history of these tastings did everyone pick the same bourbon as best, UNTIL TODAY. All 5 people picked the vatted bourbon as the best, both in nose, taste neat and taste cut. The other two bourbons in the tasting were Ezra-B 12 y/o and Elmer T. Lee. Hail Vatman.
