Woodford Reserve

Unread postby Joeluka » Mon Jan 09, 2006 4:24 pm

I found a bottle of WR all dusty in the corner of some hole in the wall Liquor store today. I was looking for WTRR101's and I found the WR for $24.99. What interseted me was the Batch number, it was number 12. Does this mean that its one of the older "honey barrel" WR that everybody speaks so highly of.
Let me know what you all think.

Joe, yes, this is all "honey barrel" Old Forester from Louisville. Many prefer it to post batch 89 WR, which combined such whiskey with pot still whiskey produced at Versailles (site of Brown Forman's Labrot and Graham Distillery, now called simply Woodford Reserve). Personally, I like examples from both before and after batch 90, each bottle shows slight differences.
