I've got 7, count 'em seven whole bottles right now :( But this is after a hiatus of a few years. I'd had a decent bourbon stash going, but stopped collecting and found myself buying a bottle only when I was out, needless to say what collection I had going was depleted. So now, I'm trying to get back to at least where I was before with 20-30 or so bottles (I don't think any of them WEREN'T open)

In the bar right now.

Eagle Rare Single Barrel 10 yr old
Booker's
Maker's Mark
Pappy Van Winkle Special Reserve 20 yr old
Black Maple Hill 11 yr old

Glenfiddich 12 yr old
Aberlour a'bunadh batch# 13

All of 'em are open.

Then there's one "collector" bottle which is my Maker's Mark 1.0 Liter red, white and blue waxed bottle. I don't think that one'll be opened any time soon. Maybe on a Sept 11th somewhere down the road.

I think 7 years is a good time to touch on this subject again ;)

counting bottles today I have 80 bottles of whiskey (1 irish, 1 scotch, 15 ryes, few non-bourbon american whiskeys, the rest are bourbon).
10 old wellers
9 van winkles
8 wild turkeys
mumble mumble
4 birthday bourbons
3 jeffersons
2 parkers heritage
and a bottle of so manyyyyyyyyyy (others)

my window sills are decorated with empties, not counting them.

ps 35 are open, I guess I am a hoarder

I havent counted my bottles but I can estimate that I have 150-175 bottles of bourbon (including rye's) and probably about 40 bottles of Scotch. I have approximately 20 bourbons and 10 scotches open at all times.

I don't have many bottles anymore. I had over 100 bottles of Bourbon, Scotch and Irish a few years back, but I decided to just start drinking them down. I'm down to around 15 bottles, and the only two that aren't opened are a Lagavulin 16 and a Talisker 18, for no other reason than I haven't felt like drinking them yet. :)

Probably forgetting a couple. Still looking to pick up an Ardbeg Uigeadail. The tequila shelf still needs a mezcal. I'm always looking for new bourbon's to try. The Pappy 15YO would be open if I could have gotten some the past two years. Since I didn't, I went a little outside my price point and picked up the Jefferson and 2012 Four Roses, both of which are incredible!

Cheers,
Mr. G

How many/ I'd have to get up to count and I'm comfortable. As to how many open probably a dozen or so which is about average for me.

I have two bottles and they are both opened. One Fighting Cock, and one Larceny. Both are good, or at least good enough. Fighting Cock is a bit Spicier, Larceny is a bit smoother, but I'm splitting hairs, it booze and it drinks.

A sad moment will come in the next day or so. The Fighting Cock will be finished, and the bottle will be placed with great reverance in the recycle bin. It was a 750ml sized bottle and gave me great enjoyment the past 2 or 3 weeks. Fortunately Heaven Hill has made more and I will go buy some.
