200 and counting

Unread postby bourbonv » Wed Aug 17, 2005 1:13 pm

We have broken the 200 mark in the Bourbon Reviews section. Keep up the good work. I personally find this to be a valuable database for scores of reasons. I hope others do as well and will add to the database.

Mike,

I couldn't of said it better. It wasn't all that long ago that I posted asking people to share their impressions. Thanks to all contributors, we do have a fine array of opinions through all of these reviews. Now, we gotta shoot for 500! Whose next?

Man you do shoot for big game! I was thinking about a goal of 300 next myself. A goal of 500 it is! The challenge is down so I guess I need to pull out a few more bottles myself.

Mike,

There's no point in thinkin' small. With all of our recent contributors posting such great reviews on a regular basis, we'll be there in no time.

Bob,
We are over 450 reviews now. We are closing in on that 500th review. I am about reviewed out so some others are going to have to step up if we are going for the 500 mark anytime soon.

That's pretty good 9 months after laying down the gauntlet for 500. 50 to go to get there...awesome! I'd ask that those of you sitting on the sidelines to jump in the pool and post your reviews. We've had some folks doing lots of reviews, and thanks to them we're nearing the current goal. We'll be there in no time if there's some others contributing.

Bob,
494 reviews. Only 6 more to reach the 500 goal. I was skeptical that we would get to the 500 goal in the second year but it does look like we will.

C'mon gang! No need to be afraid...share YOUR REVIEWS. None are right or wrong; these are our personal thoughts. With all the active members, I challenge ourselves to hit 600! We are 4 from 500, who's got an opinion/impression about ANY bourbon you've gotten to know a bit. I know we could do it easily. So there you have it. There's a NEW GOAL.

And Mike, thanks for keeping us all up to date with our current number, as well as all of your other numerous invaluable contributions.

Bob,
I have to admit I am a little suprised and dissapointed. After all the last goal you set after reaching the 200 mark was for 500. I was expecting the next goal to be set at 750 or 1,000! Or did you maen a goal of 600 by the end of the second year in October? Well either way, 600 is the goal, so come on folks, lets do some reviews. I know many people who are not members but use this site before shopping for bourbon. The reviews are really a public service.

Honestly Mike, YOU are right. I don't know, or care, about the number of people that are members here. However, I think ENTHUSIAST's would be wanting to share their opinions/impressions with their fellow members, as well as the general population that visits the site and may utilize our Review section. Maybe folks are awed by the manner in which some of us (myself not included in this rare breed group, but we know who they are) are able to explain our observations.

So, in the darkness of a new evening, the goal is officially revised: with a time frame:

BY THIS TIME NEXT YEAR, BOURBONENTHUSIAT WILL HAVE 1000 REVIEWS

Mike thinks we can do it and so do I. Make it happen!

Bob,
That is indeed a hefty goal! I think we can do it, but the members are going to have to do so serious tastings. It is a tough job, but someone has to it.

We're on the same "wave length" regarding hitting the goal...I'd disagree regarding it being a "tough" job however. How can it be tough to write about a beverage that you are enthusiastic about? Granted, many areas of the world have limited availability, but those of us that taste these special nectars outta tell the world about it! As you say, somebody's gotta do it. We will see, but I have faith.
