A Bourbon not on the list

Unread postby Bourbon Joe » Tue Aug 16, 2005 8:02 pm

Ezra Brooks makes a 12 Year Old, 99 proof Bourbon which is not on the list. It is marketed as "EZRA B" . It's in the identical format as the 15 year old.

Thanks Joe, I'll add it either tonight or tomorrow. The 12 year old replaced the 15yo about 2 years ago. I've yet to have the 12 but is is considerably lighter than the 15 yo was. I really enjoyed the 15 alot, both because of its price and great taste. It was very 'robust' and had a lot of barrel character. That was one, of many, I hated to see go.

Old Ezra 15-101

Hey Mark,
Did you ever have the Old Ezra 15 y/o 101 Sippin Whiskey from yesteryear? I still have some which I dole out very gingerly. It's pretty good stuff, but sadly gone.

Yeah, I've had it and hated to see it go away, replaced by the 12 yo that's out now. There was a time they had it on internetwines and when they had their annual 25% off sale it'd go for $15!

Hi Mark,
Don't see it on the list yet. I have included a picture of it for your info.

We did a tasting with the Ezra line-up at the store many months back. I found the 12 year to have a very smokey, ashy kinda flavor. I prefer the EB101 7 year myself.

Hey, LeNell, two questions:

1) Is the 7 yo readily available? We found some yesterday and, quite honestly, didn't have a specific memory of ever seeing it on a shelf or having it.

2) What are your tasting impressions of the 7yo?

Obviously, anybody who has two cents, chime in, too!
