Favorite Bourbon

Unread postby Bob Barker » Mon Jun 03, 2013 8:52 pm

I recently found my favorite bourbon to date. It is Blantons straight from the barrel. I like this over my now second favorite Bookers. It is an easy question I ask you. What is your favorite bourbon you have tasted so far on your bourbon journey.

i have a long way to go before i can say definitively (if thats possible in the bourbon world...), but Bookers and Knob Creek 120 top my list of what ive tried!

lately ive enjoyed starting off with some VOB BIB, then finishing up with my KC 120 proof.

where did you get Blantons straight from the barrel?!?! I thought it was export only? my friend was just in Scotland and i thought about asking him to get me some, but the prices I see online made me rethink that.

As far as I know it is export only but I got it on a cruise in the Cayman Islands. I almost didn't get it but I was pretty sure I had read on forums that it wasn't available in the states so I snapped it up. I am so glad that I did. If only I would be able to get back to Cayman again soon :?

Tough call as each visit to my favorite pours yields a slightly different experience. If I had to pick only one though, it would have to be PVW 15yo. It has been knocked off the top of the hill briefly by the likes of a 2010 BTAC Weller, Jefferson Presidential 18yo and most recently a 2012 BTAC Stagg but always seems to come back and take the throne. Wish I couldd get that Blantons you mention. I love their regular expression.

Cheers,
RG

id have bought one too. then opened it in the store, tasted it and decided if i wanted to get a second, or third, before leaving. Looking online, it looked like it was about $100 in europe, so i didnt ask him to bring me one.

I know 393 I'm just kicking myself for not buying more since I won't be back at a duty free store anytime in the near future :( but I am very lucky to at least have gotten one.

It's the bottom forum of the "Other Discussion" section. Only shows up for members, but you ought to be able to see it.
So Come On Down! We'd love to have you join us.
