Howdy,
On a whim, I recently succumbed to temptation and purchased a bottle of Old Forester signature. Previously my pallet had been pretty much Jim Beam black label-which is plenty good. On to this Bourbon tyro's appraisal. Nose: Deep raisins and toffee, leather and moderate charred Oak. Taste: Big. smooth. Less Listerine tasting than JB black. Finish: Smooth, Corn with raisins and some chocolate. The only drawback is the $25 price at my local Thrifty Liquor. My new favorite; is 100 proof and seems rather Rye-heavy, fwiw.
