Commonwealth Distillers

Unread postby maierar » Tue Jun 14, 2005 1:11 pm

A few years ago I bought and loved Old Commonwealth 10 yr old. It has since vanished and our own BE library lists it and 2 other bottlings from Commonwealth distillers as "not available". Does anybody know why? Or how to find out if it may be available again?

So far as I know, that one is done. You may want to look at some older Van Winkle to find *similar whiskey.

We stopped bottling Old Commonwealth when we joined up with Buffalo Trace Distillery 3 years ago. It was the same whiskey as our regular Old Rip Van Winkle, 10-year, 107 Proof bottling so we decided to discontinue the brand. We were also short of that whiskey.
Try our 10-yr 107 proof ORVW.

I was going to post the same info until the man Julian himself posted the information.

Good to hear from you Julian, hope things are going well.

Thanks for the replies. I am on my last bottle of Old Commonwealth so I will look for a bottle of VW (not an easy task, finding anything other than national brands around here).

Maierar,

Although quite a few miles from you, if you're in Brooklyn, visit our very own LeNell's. She's got a great bourbon selection. She's also had a number of wonderful visitors...Julian, Jimmy Russell, Bill Samuels (just this past Monday).
