Which would you purchase? WTRB or 4RSIngleB

Hi all-

New to the boards here and fairly new to good bourbons.
Stopping on the way home and unsure which of these I should get. I prefer barrel strenght stuff, so I'm leaning toward the Wild Turkey Rare Breed, although its not much higher proof than the Four Roses Single Barrel.

Any thoughts/ suggestions would be great.

They are both superb Bourbons! If you lean toward the barrel proof bourbons I would grab Rare Breed. While their proofs may be close, Rare breed will offer more "bite". Four Roses, even at 100 proof, drinks more like an 86-90 proof bourbon.

I'd say WTRB is more bold, 4RSB is more complex. which are you looking for? ymmv.

Thank you both. Think Im going to go with the Rare Breed. Based on my limited experiences, Ive enjoyed more bolder bourbons , e.g. Bookers, Parkers Heritage. Those pack a nice long finish which I really enjoy. Ive also been enjoying the High West Bourye.

That's a tough one. I like both of them equally well. I would probably take the FRSB on most occassions, but I've been known to kill a bottle of WTRB in a week.

I prefer Rare Breed over Four Roses single barrel so RB would be my choice but proof really doesn't enter into it. The two are very different so I suggest you buy one now and the other next paycheck.

I favor the Four Roses Single Barrel. It's amazing stuff. Surprisingly affordable here in KY.

That in itself is a lot i almost did that with my first rye, if you got the cash try russels reserve or kentucky spirit of the two i have only had kentucky spirit so far and i enjoyed the bottle.

I paid $27.99 at Sam's club for Four Roses Single Barrel and that is the upper end of my price range. WT Rare Breed is about $34, and I didn't like it as well. These days I'm looking for 1.75 liter bottle that are a better value than the 750's. Sometimes you get the additional liter for less than a 750. Better bourbon thru a quanity discount.
